Thom Browne aw 15

If the notes of Chopin’s funeral march could create a collection, it would look exactly like the one Thom Browne created for his AW15.

Among the items that stood out the most, were the Victorian-esque veils, but it is the unexpected humour behind a sombre theme that emphasised a dark, disorientating sense of wonder.

Accordingly, the colours echoed the theme of the mourners’ parade; snow-white shirts plus all black everything. Leather, fur, lace and velvet were among the fabrics used to create exquisite pieces; a personal favourite being the over the knee, fur-lined coat.

Surprisingly, the accessories all played a major role, reinforcing the theme. With that said, the whale-shaped bag added an element of humour to this otherwise dark collection.

If the notes of Chopin’s funeral march could create a collection, it would look exactly like the one Thom Browne created for his AW15: sombre, marvellous and hauntingly enchanting.
