“There’s something that I am going to do, I am going to study clothing design,” said Antonio Banderas, on a UK chat show.
The 54-year-old expressed his interest in fashion design, revealing he intends to study at London’s Central Saint Martins. “This is something that has been in my mind for a long time. Probably one of the best schools in the world is here, Saint Martins university, so I’m going to start studying with them. Of course I won’t stop my professional life, I’ll continue acting, directing and writing… but this is a new thing,” he said. “I want the knowledge to take steps in that territory in the future.”
Central Saint Martins has taught some of the world’s renowned designers, including John Galliano, Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen. Kanye West is also associated with the institution since he frequented the late Louise Wilson, the former head of the Fashion Design MA. Wilson is known to have been an influence to rapper Kanye West, in the design department.
