Drafting a presentation script and proposal, on a gloomy day, while dreaming of Milles et une nuits but the Ellie Saab version. So much beauty, precision and elegance. Think winged eye-line, good mascara, matte lipstick, long flowing hair especially if your hair type defies gravity and beautifully long flowing gowns. Heavenly sounding music in tune with every move you make is only optional and- if i dare say- imaginery but if you want it, you got it too. Now, for anyone who’s […]
On how Alexis Mabille never disappoints, this also came to mind. There is something theatrical about his entire creation. Although, they can be at times subtle, they are all imposing in a sense that they require you to stop and admire the level of artistry invested im the making of every single garment. I’m in awe.
With his spring summer 2015 couture collection, Jean Paul Gaultier began to mend the hearts he broke when he said goodbye to ready to wear. This collection focused on the many facets of the Jean Paul Gaultier woman; a woman who exerts power, individuality and sexiness at all time. Although not a single soul on earth could have predicted what was to come, Raf Simons took everyone on a psychedelic-esque trip to a past, where colour, print and latex boots reigned. His inspirations were drawn from a place where “the […]
In a mise en scene that mirrored lightness and playfulness, a grandiose collection was presented for Giambattista Valli’s Couture of spring summer 2015. A very Valli collection usually comes with a promise of sculptural silhouettes and a huge amount of florals, in all shapes and forms. This notion was taken and blown into surprises from start to finish. The disruption began right from the start, when models appeared in tulle skirts worn over silk crepe pants. This look came and […]
