Hedi Slimane welcomes us to the world of a Parisian rock ‘n’ roll party at Yves Saint Laurent. The colour palette is black, bien sûr!

To  a wide range of materials, varying from lace, leather,  wool, silk, satin, sequins and fur, was added impeccable prints and patterns; these included the Breton stripes, animal prints and polka dots. Their presence ensured that behind the overall sharp aspect of every look, the mosaics pieces of prints, patterns and fabrics did not leave a single detail out.

Accessory wise, there were berets, dark sunglasses and cravats. It is the footwear, however, that stole the show: who knew leather pointed ankle boots could create such an effect?

Overall this collection holds the secrets of the Parisian style: a little sort of je ne sais quoi that you can’t quite figure out. The actual secret of a Parisian style?
